Used laptops flood market despite import ban

The report investigates the booming trade of imported used laptops in Bangladesh despite official restrictions. I reported it through a combination of field visits, interviews, and data gathering from industry insiders. I visited laptop markets in Dhaka posing as a buyer, interviewed shop owners and association leaders, and collected insights on market trends and legal loopholes. This mix of firsthand observation and expert commentary provides both ground-level detail and policy perspective. The story was published as the lead report of the Times of Bangladesh on October 23, 2025.

Are open spaces in Dhaka adequate for residents?

The report explores the shrinking open spaces and playgrounds in Dhaka, highlighting how rapid urbanization and fragmented management have left residents with limited recreational areas. I reported it by combining official data analysis, expert interviews, and on-site observations of city parks and playgrounds under both municipal corporations. I spoke with officials from DNCC and DSCC, urban planners, and environmental experts to understand the scope of the problem and the government’s response. The story was published as the lead report of the Dhaka Tribune on January 15, 2025.
